Tents & Trees · Effective June 20, 2026 · Last updated June 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Tents & Trees mobile game (‘the App’), published by BetuWorks (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’), handles information when you use it. By installing or using the App you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Tents & Trees is a single-player logic puzzle game. All gameplay (generating, solving, and saving your puzzles) happens on your device. We do not run a gameplay server, we do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email, or contacts. The App does use a small number of Google services for ads, crash reporting, analytics, in-app purchases, and basic Google Play functionality, which may process limited technical and device information. The sections below explain exactly what, and how to limit it.
Note on phased features. Some of the services described below (online ads, crash reporting, analytics, in-app purchases) are introduced over the App's release lifecycle. A given section applies only once that feature is present in the version of the App you have installed. If a feature is not in your version, the corresponding data is not collected.
1. Information we and our partners process
1.1 Information stored only on your device (not collected by us)
The following is saved locally on your device using standard app storage and is not transmitted to us:
- Your puzzle progress, completion records, and best times.
- In-progress puzzle boards (so you can resume).
- Your settings and preferences (theme, sound, haptics, language, reminder time, accessibility options, and similar).
- Daily-streak and mode statistics.
This data stays on your device. Uninstalling the App removes it. We have no copy and cannot recover it for you.
1.2 Advertising: Google AdMob
The App displays ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads (and, where you consent, personalized ads), AdMob and its partners may collect and process:
- Advertising identifiers (for example, the Android Advertising ID or app set ID).
- Device and technical information (device model, OS version, language, coarse/approximate location derived from IP, network information).
- Ad-interaction data (ads shown, clicks, frequency).
We do not receive your identity from this. AdMob uses it to deliver, cap, measure, and (with consent) personalize ads.
- Google's handling of this data: policies.google.com/privacy and policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Consent (EEA/UK): where required, the App presents a Google-certified consent message (UMP) before ads load, letting you accept or decline personalized ads.
- You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- A paid ‘Remove Ads’ option (see Section 1.5) disables interstitial ads.
1.3 Crash reporting: Firebase Crashlytics
To find and fix crashes, the App uses Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service). When the App crashes it may collect:
- A crash stack trace and the state leading up to the crash.
- Device and OS information (model, OS version, available memory, App version).
- An app-instance or installation identifier used to group crash reports.
Crash reports are diagnostic and are not used to identify you personally. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
1.4 Analytics: Google Analytics for Firebase
The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand, in aggregate, how the App is used (for example, which modes are played, completion and retention patterns). It may collect:
- Anonymous or pseudonymous usage events and screen interactions.
- A Firebase installation or instance identifier.
- Device and general technical information (model, OS, language, region).
This is used in aggregate to improve the App. Where required, analytics collection is subject to your consent choice (Section 1.2). See firebase.google.com/support/privacy and policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
1.5 In-app purchases: Google Play Billing
The App may offer in-app purchases, including a non-consumable ‘Remove Ads’ product. Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment-card or full billing details, because Google handles the transaction. We receive only the purchase result needed to unlock your entitlement (for example, that ‘Remove Ads’ was purchased), which is stored on your device and validated through Google Play. Google's handling of purchase data is governed by policies.google.com/privacy.
1.6 Google Play Services
The App relies on Google Play services for core functions such as delivery, licensing, crash/ANR signals, in-app purchases, and (where used) ad and consent infrastructure. Google may process device and diagnostic information as described in Google's Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Reserved for future use: Google Play Games Services. A later version may add Google Play Games Services (for example, sign-in, leaderboards, achievements, or cloud save). If and when it does, that feature, being optional and account-based, would process your Google Play Games profile and saved-game data under Google's Privacy Policy, and this policy will be updated before it ships.
1.7 Optional local notifications
If you opt in to the daily reminder, the App schedules a local notification on your device. This is handled entirely on-device and is not sent through any server or push service. You can turn it off at any time in Settings.
2. How information is used
Information processed via the services above is used to:
- Show and measure ads, and (with consent) personalize them.
- Diagnose crashes and improve stability.
- Understand aggregate usage to improve the App.
- Process and restore in-app purchases.
- Provide core delivery, security, and anti-fraud functions through Google Play.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (personalized ads and, where applicable, analytics); our legitimate interests (security, crash-fixing, aggregate non-personalized improvement, fraud prevention); and performance of a contract (delivering purchases you make). You may withdraw consent at any time via the App's consent controls or your device settings.
4. Data sharing
We do not share your information with third parties except:
- The service providers described in Section 1 (Google AdMob, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Analytics for Firebase, Google Play Billing and Play services), acting as processors or independent controllers per their own policies.
- Where required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
These providers may process data on servers outside your country, including the United States, under appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
5. Data retention
- On-device data persists until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Crash, analytics, and ad data are retained by the respective providers per their policies and your consent choices.
6. Children's privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are requested as appropriate for a general-audience app. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to or withdraw consent.
- Ads: change consent in the App (EEA/UK) or reset/limit your ad ID in device settings; buy ‘Remove Ads’ to disable interstitials.
- Analytics and crash data: governed by your consent choice and Google's controls.
- All on-device data: clear it by uninstalling the App.
- To exercise other rights, contact us at info@betuworks.com. For requests about data held by Google, use Google's privacy controls and tools.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, and rely on Google's infrastructure, to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves (for example, when a new service such as analytics or Play Games Services is added). We will post the updated policy at the URL above and revise the ‘Last updated’ date. Material changes will be reflected before the related feature is enabled.
